Dearest Reader,

For those of you who don’t know me—or perhaps it’s been quite some time since we’ve rubbed shoulders—allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joshua Budimlic, and I suppose everything worth knowing about me can be distilled in only a few words: I am a writer, a teacher, a lover of long talks, even longer walks, and strong coffee; I am a friend to many, a husband to one, a father to a little one, and above all, a Christian.

With respect to the latter point, that of my union with Christ, if one is to know me at all they must first realize that everything about me has to be seen and understood from this particular vantage point. To understand this blog and its author, you would do well to first acquaint yourself with Him, the Author of life and our only hope in death—the Author of me and of you.

On this blog I will endeavor to speak on those things I love: my wife, my Lord, and the trillions of blessings—and sorrows—that lie between this life and the one to come. I love books and I love to write, but above all I love the One to whom these streams and shadows point—Christ Himself. In this way, my work here below as author, husband, father, friend, and disciple is to not only live and write well, but to do so in such a way that makes Him known.

I have often felt as though my very soul was born out of ink, penned upon the canvas of spirit by Him who is the very Author of life—what can I do but write unto Him in return? I relish the opportunity to write and walk along with you on this road, dear reader, until we reach our journey’s end.

Your friend,

   Joshua
